We are actively purchasing American and
European paintings and drawings from the 19th and 20th Century. We are
particularly interested in the following:
- Important women painters (or
important paintings by 2nd or 3d tier women) particularly Lilian W.
Hale, Ellen D. Hale, Laura C. Hills, Theresa Bernstein, Gretchen
Rogers, Rosamond Smith Bouve, Cecilia Beaux, Gertrude Fiske, Jane
Peterson.
- Artists painting in New England
(subject matter) from Twachtman, Metcalf, etc. to G.L. Noyes, and
Frederick Mulhaupt.
- Boston School artists and subjects,
especially E. C. Tarbell, Frank Benson, Joseph DeCamp, W. M. Paxton
etc.
- Newburyport related material and/or
works by artists associated with this area (Laura Hills, J. Appleton
Brown, A.T. Bricher, C.H. Davis, Dennis Bunker, M.J. Heade, Agnes
Brown)
- Still life paintings and florals,
especially Hermann Dudley Murphy, Laura Coombs Hills, and Wilton
Lockwood. Can be early 19th century or later.
- 19th century European paintings
especially French Barbizon, Spanish, Italian, German and Austrian.
